Garrett is 5!

High Lights of Garrett when he was once upon a time little

Wow how did it happen. I just do not know where the time went. I can't believe my "buddy" is five years old! He is so filled with spunk and silliness and character and sweetness what would I ever do with out him! I think Garrett had a very good birthday and loved every minute of it!

We had a little rough start of a day because...Well I hid his presents under my bed. It was early in the morning and Brian was in the shower and I was in bed sleeping. Garrett came up from his room to snuggle with me and then all of a sudden with a very exciting voice Garrett exclaimed "mom wake up look what I found? Oh my goodness, Look what I found Panda bears!". Garrett LOVES animals. He has been wanting a panda bear and a baby panda bear for a very long time!! I awoke very quickly and took them away and said Garrett I will be right back. I know what a good thing to say right? I just didn't know what to say or do. So I went in to talk to Brian and see what he said. Meanwhile Garrett had went under the bed for another search and found another present. Smart huh? Dumb on my part. Well Brian and I talked to Garrett and just told him he would have to wait for his presents until after dinner and cake. At first he said no thank you to my birthday because I want my Pandas! Wow when it's their birthday and ow excited he was for those pandas it broke my heart to see him so sad and politely turn down his own birthday! He was a little upset but got over it real quickly when I told him we were going to go swimming with Aunt Heather, Taryn, Riley and Jordyn.

So here is what we did on Garrett's birthday.

Went to the park and ate lunch!

We went swimming

We went with Aunt Heather and her girls. It was so nice to actually take some swim photos of my kids. I am usually by myself swimming with all three and I am worried about keeping them all safe. It was also so nice to spend one on one time with each of the kids. We had a blast!!

It took a while for Garrett to go off and swim on his own but he was fine after a few minutes! He even went down the slide (very slowly) but at least he did it! He loved wearing Riley's Goggles!

Hannah loved playing with Riley and Jordyn. She had a blast down the slide too! She also loved Riley's goggles.

Natalie is a fish and fears nothing! She was would just jump in and zip down the slide and did not care if she got water in the face! She also loved loved Riley's goggles.

It was so fun to go swimming. Thank you Skahills for the fun time and all the help!

Garrett chose this as his Birthday Dinner. He was so excited for BBQ Meatballs, he had been talking about them for a week!

Hannah and Natalie's Balloon Gift

There is a little Einstein movie the kids just love and on the show there is a little girl who gets balloons fro her birthday. Hannah and Garrett wanted to do that when it was their Birthday. So Brian finished getting Garrett's dinner ready and I took the girls to the dollar store to each pick a balloon they wanted to give Garrett for his Birthday. Hannah picked the Winnie the Pooh ( she really wanted to give Garrett a Dora one but I talked her into getting him a more boy looking balloon). Natalie wanted the star. Garrett was a little bummed that he couldn't go but he was thrilled when we came home and the girls each gave him a balloon. Garrett kept thanking them and giving the hugs.

Finally got to open his presents

Garrett received a Panda and a baby panda, tractor set and Five Dollars from Grandma Betty (he went and bought 2 huge bugs, 2 books and a treat).

He loved all the phone calls!! Thank you for thinking of our Garrett and just making him feel special.

After the day was through and Brian and I were tucking him in his bed and he said "Mom, Dad, thank you soooo much. It was so fun for my Birthday". I am so glad he took time to thank us and that he had a great day because we sure loved celebrating his birthday with him!

Garrett's Package from Grandpa and Grandma Stoker

Grandma Carol and Grandpa Randal Called him for his birthday and told him he would be getting a package in the mail. Garrett anxiously waited for the package every day! He would go and check the mail even when it was early in the morning or at bedtime. It finally arrived and it was everything he could hope for! There were animals galore, dinosaurs, bugs, frogs, a cow, snakes, and lizards. There were cool animal movies and a cool dinosaur movie and some games to play on the computer. And even a cool new big boy outfit he called it! (the brown football sirt with the cargo pants posted above)

Garrett lined up all of his birthday animals and put them in families. They were eating the apples that the kids had left from snack and Garrett and the animals were just having a great time! Thank you Grandpa and Grandma Stoker!!
